Motion Systems, Cockpits, and Gloves: the Latest and Greatest

26 Nov 2024

We talk a lot about wheelbases, pedals, and steering wheels, but there are definitely other important parts to a sim-racing setup. Today, we're introducing several new products announced at ADAC that might be key to bringing your setup to the next level.

1. Gravideck TrueMotion Motion Simulator

Starting off we have the Gravideck motion simulator with TrueMotion technology. This is one of the more unique approaches to motion simulation on the current market, as this device moves your entire rig across the floor while you drive to help enhance realism as much as possible. While certainly not feasible for setups without a large amount of open space, it is definitely an interesting and novel solution.

2. D-Box + Mercedes Benz/Mercedes AMG Modular Motion Platform

D-Box has also introduced another motion setup with their Modular Motion Platform, developed in collaboration with Mercedes Benz and Mercedes AMG. It is a luxury haptic simulator with over 65,000 hand-coded haptic effects and a very sleek profile, designed to increase the realism of oversteer, understeer, wheel locking, and more. Luxury sim-racing does come with a luxury price tag though, and you'll need to drop 10-thousand dollars to get your hands on one.

3. Sabelt: Cockpit and Seat Upgrades

None of those motion simulation products will matter if you don't first have a cockpit and seat, and the Italian company Sabelt has just announced their EVO 1 update for all of the 99-series cockpits. This means that all three lines--the S, X, and P--are getting a new version with updated surface finishes, better rigidity, and a Double Plate Mounting system. Sabelt has also added new colors for their Racing Seats, so racers can further personalize their setups as they like.

4. G COM 360 Racing Gloves

Last but not least, we have a new entry into the Sim-Racing industry: G COM 360 is a German startup that is focused on manufacturing Sim-Racing gloves. Their first product is the SRG1, which features external seams for maximal comfort, as well as a thin outer layer to keep tactile feedback high and your hands cool.

You can keep your wallet cool as well with our sim-racing accessories and mods at SimSportGadget.com. Keep your new Sim-racing gloves by your side with our glove holder, and customize your setup with our huge catalogue of products made for perfect profile-rig compatibility. Give our shop a visit, and keep on racing.
